Happiness

Happiness

CATALOGUE TEXT
Are we able to hold on to the rare moments of joy and happiness? In her short essay the director Zara Zandieh, born in Berlin and with Iranian roots, investigates questions about time and memory that trace back to non-European traditions and extend to Proust. 8mm material shows moments of a fragmented present. A male voice explains the linguistic and etymological meaning of the Farsi word for “happiness” and compares it with that of the German word. A philosophical and edifying film experience.
